From Our Executive Chairman

Hi All,

As I write this message, my thoughts are caught in what I might call a “Jekyll & Hyde” moment!

On the one hand the Geo-Political situation seems to be spiralling, and is a cause for concern for all of us, while on the other hand, regions like India, Asia, Africa and the US, seem to be operating as if things are absolutely regular. This seems to be the new normal, resulting in higher airfares that could impact us in the near term. I also believe that price gouging by full services airlines is permitting low cost airlines to compete directly with them on short haul sectors and this, ultimately, backfires on many of the large airlines.

On to better things. We said goodbye to Daniel D’souza, who has landed a great career opportunity and decided to pursue it. Dan spent 27 years at SOTC, and contributed to the transformation of the SOTC Leisure Business, as well as the integration of the Leisure Business between TC and SOTC. Please join me in wishing Dan and his family all the very best in his new endeavour.

We also said goodbye to Mrs. Udeshi after she completed her term as an Independent Director on the Board of Thomas Cook. Our relationship with Mrs. Udeshi dates back three decades to the time she was at the Reserve Bank of India. Mrs. Udeshi spent 11 years on the Thomas Cook Board, and I cannot say enough about her contribution in the areas of Governance and Foreign Exchange. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Udeshi for her contribution, mentoring and sound advice to the Company. I will miss her.

During the last quarter we said goodbye to some more of our staff on superannuating. They are– Annie Benjamin Dsouza-TC Tours Ltd., and Ganapathi M. Doddamane- Thomas Cook (India) Ltd.

As you step into this new phase of your life, we want to acknowledge the incredible journey you have had with us. While we bid farewell, we celebrate the lasting impact you’ve made, and wish you joy, peace, and new discoveries in the years ahead.

Also to those who have crossed the significant milestones of 15, 20, 30, and even 35 years with the company, and there are several, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your dedication, loyalty, and commitment through the years have been the cornerstone of our success. Your journey with us is a testament to the strength of our team and the enduring bonds that make our company special. Thank you for your years of service and for being an integral part of our story.

I would like to close by expressing my heartfelt thanks to each one in our organisation, for your unwavering support and invaluable contribution. Your expertise in managing revenue margins and controlling costs has been instrumental in delivering outstanding results over the past several quarters.

Let’s continue this great momentum.

Until we meet here again, take care.
