Across the group, we have witnessed calamities that have impacted us in various ways. The volcanic eruptions in Bali, Indonesia, the earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia, the floods in Kerala and the drought in Cape Town, have had devastating effects locally, and in many cases resulted in loss of life and extensive damage to the infrastructure. Our hearts go out to the people who have lost family members, or their homes and livelihood.
In India, Thomas Cook, TCI and SOTC are making a contribution of $45000 towards relief in Kerala, and our employees are being encouraged to contribute directly.
Technology continues to be the primary focus of the Group with the objective of seamless integration with our customers, partners and vendors. Some of the companies in the group are implementing new platforms, whereas other group companies are enhancing their existing platforms using new technology related products that are available off the shelf.
