ATM Melbourne Staff Celebrate the Year of the Dragon

Chinese people believe that what you do at the beginning of a New Year will affect your luck in the coming year.

Well,  the staff of the ATM Melbourne will certanly have a lovely year as colleagues met for lunch for the Chinese New Year!  It also ushers in the Spring Festival according to the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar, marking the end of winter and the beginning of Spring. Observances traditionally start on New Year’s Eve, the evening preceding the first day of the year, upto the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year.

Popular Lunar New Year  themes are displayed with paper-cuts and couplets depicting good fortune, happiness, wealth, and longevity. Other activities include lighting firecrackers and giving money in red envelopes. As part of the culture, we all gathered for lunch  to express gratitude,  to welcome the New Year, and had a lovely time together!
