News and Updates Asian Trails | Q4 2025
Dear Pulse reader,
I begin my quarterly update with a ‘happy birthday’ to us, as in September, Asian Trails turned 26. Another year has led to more innovation in our tech.
Just before our birthday we celebrated the relaunch of our Cloud Tariff – our agents-only hub for travel industry news, rates and information. The new platform benefits from a refreshed look and feel, designed to enhance the overall user experience. You can read more about the updated and improved agent portal here.
Our devoted Co-founder & Chairman, Luzi, has also been in the news recently for his passionate support of elephants at a camp frequented by travellers on his RV River Kwai cruises. You can read more and watch a video of Luzi’s personal care mission here: Sweet relief as jumbo healed with honey.
As for me, I’ve been travelling around our destinations as always, checking in with our teams across the region. One particular trip to Malaysia inspired my gastronomic passions, which I shared in my musings for our Trailblazer: Culinary highlights of Kuala Lumpur.
Our Managing Directors also enjoy providing updates and insights from their destinations, which you may find equally inspiring. In a recent article, Xiaolin reflected on China’s golden week in her piece China opens its doors to more travellers. Asian Trails Indonesia MD, Bjorn, also took the time to recount the story of his personal inspection trip in the following blog: Revisit reveals Lombok’s rapid rise.
In more logistical updates, there have been adjustments to visa information and airport / flight connects as follows:
- Vietnam visa exemption expanded to more countries
- Indonesia’s digital platform eases entry for international visitors
- Akasa Air arrives in South-East Asia with Mumbai-Phuket flights
- Phnom Penh’s Techo International Airport takes off
- Lao government announce digital immigration pilot
- Etihad expands South-East Asian network
- New flights between China and Cambodia
- AirAsia to launch three-country route
- Firefly to connect Kuala Lumpur and Krabi
