In true Burmese style, the party was filled with good food and drinks, laughter and an \u2018Idol;\u2019 singing competition. The evening ended with a lucky draw with colleagues and guests winning a variety of prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Malaysia recognises handicraft entrepreneurs with National Craft Day\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Malaysia hosts the annual National Craft Day to give recognition to the local craft entrepreneurs for their commitment and efforts in developing and expanding the industry. Organised by Malaysia Handicraft Development Corporation from February 28th to March 10th this year, it will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> On show will be local handicraft to promote Malaysian culture and traditional values. Activities include an exhibition and sales and promotion of new products such as textiles, forest-based articles, ceramics and metals. A fashion show exhibiting the best in local garments, a concert by several notable buskers and food trucks selling local delicacies will add colour to the occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Vietnam to host Formula One race from 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Vietnam will join the Formula One calendar in April 2020 with a street race in the capital city, Hanoi. The Vietnamese Grand Prix is the first new race announced since Liberty Media took charge of the sport last year. The inaugural race will be staged around the national stadium in the My Dinh area along a 22-turn course 5.6km circuit. The track will be designed by Hermann Tilke, a German engineer, racing driver and circuit designer. Cars racing on the circuit can reach speed of up to 335km\/hr.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Asian Trails Vietnam is in contact with suppliers and local authorities to offer packages and event ideas around this exciting new event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Citilink connects Kuala Lumpur with Banyuwangi in East Java<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Low cost carrier Citilink, a subsidiary of Indonesia\u2019s Garuda Indonesia, is one of the first regional airlines that has opened an aerial bridge between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia\u2019s capital, and Banyuwangi, a city in East Java. The route, launched in December last year, is operated with an Airbus A320 carrying a maximum of 180 passengers on the three-hour flight. According to the airline, the service is to meet the rising demand for more direct connections to alternative airports in Java<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> \u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Asian Trails Indonesia and Malaysia see this new connection as a way forward to offer more multi-country travel options between South-east Asian destinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Siem Reap\u2019s Landmine Museum re-opens<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Siem Reap\u2019s famous Landmine Museum, situated just outside the pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei, re-opened its doors on December 27th 2018. The building was closed for three months after a fire broke out in the main display hall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> The museum is one of Cambodia\u2019s most renowned landmarks showcasing the atrocities of war and the damage inflicted by thousands of landmines scattered throughout the country, Visitors will gain a deeper insight on how much impact landmines still have on the daily lives of the Cambodian people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Display of Lights illuminates Penang\u2019s Kek Lok Si Temple \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To celebrate Chinese New Year (February 5th-6th) more than 10,000 lights from the famed Kek Lok Si Temple will illuminate the landscape of Air Itam in Penang, Malaysia. Also known as the &#8216;Temple of Supreme Bliss&#8217; and said to be the largest and finest Buddhist temple in South-east Asia, it attracts thousands of devotees to its annual \u2018Display of Lights\u2019 from February 4th-19th.
