The annual \u2018Explore Asia \u2013 Out of the Ordinary Tour for Everyone\u2019 is out. An annual collection of novel itineraries from our offices across East and South-east Asia, it was again officially launched at the 2018 World Travel Market in London.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our team has gone all out to blaze new paths in travel for anyone with a zest for out-of-the-box thinking and enriching the product range with unique ways to showcase some of our finest destinations \u2013 from new glamping ideas to high adventures in China and deep dive in the history of Thailand\u2019s ancient kingdoms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bangkok Art Biennale showcases works of budding Thai artists<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years Thailand has seen a steady flow of artists making their name and achieving fame in the international art scene. The continuation of seeing these masters turn their vision and messages into something visual and tangible has led to the first\u00a0Art Biennale\u00a0in the Thai capital.<\/span><\/p>\n

From now until February 2019 dozens of promising artists are displaying their work in key areas around Bangkok. This unique event of presenting the world through different eyes has turned the \u201cCity of Angels\u201d into a \u201cCity of Art.\u201d Want to find out more? The reopening of Cambodia\u2019s 4-Rivers Floating Lodge put on hold<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One of Cambodia\u2019s most recognisable properties in the western part of the country for nature-loving travellers, 4 Rivers Floating Lodge, has held back its reopening until further notice..\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lodge was severely damaged after floods destroyed most of the tents near Koh Kong, Tatai. Since then the owners have been reconstructing new tents, both floating and on land. Asian Trails Cambodia will continue to monitor the situation, and will keep our clients and customers posted on the reopening dates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Asian Trails Laos\u2019 GM provides ongoing support to Attapeu residents<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The aftermath of the floods in southern Laos are still visible months after large parts of the Attapeu district were inundated. Apart from the Laos office providing support our very own Virginie Kury, Asian Trails Laos\u2019 General Manager, went beyond the call of duty to collect funds and goods by organising her own fund-raising.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Virginie coordinated, organised and financed most of operational services from donations received. Her tireless efforts bore fruit when she handed the goods to the affected Attapeu residents. We highly commend her work and applaud her tireless efforts in getting the much-needed help to the flood victims.<\/span><\/p>\n

Asian Trails Malaysia launches sundown cruise through the mangroves<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Kilim Geoforest Park has long been a favourite day excursion for guests to Langkawi, as it is teeming with wildlife and natural wonders. Our Malaysian product team has created a brand new sunset cruise through this protected part of Malaysia. Navigating the smaller waterways under the mangrove canopy guests receive a different perspective of Kilim and its inhabitants, ending with the culinary surprise of a sumptuous dinner at a floating restaurant. <\/span><\/p>\n

This sundown cruise at one of Langkawi\u2019s natural regions is Asian Trails\u2019 offering of a new evening tour option to its already expansive excursions on and off the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cambodia\u2019s Academy of Culinary Arts addresses skills gap and unemployment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia (ACAC), a public-private partnership, is the country\u2019s first world-class culinary training academy. The Phnom Penh-based institution brings together four government ministries, the private sector and industry groups to address Cambodia\u2019s well-documented \u2018skills gap\u2019 and the issue of youth unemployment. By offering high-quality education with an internationally-recognised curriculum the ACAC aims to raise the skill level of Cambodian youth entering the workforce. The training is also to ensure they have competitive advantage in the region\u2019s burgeoning tourism and hospitality sectors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In collaboration with our Phnom Penh office we will launch new culinary experience packages soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pottery and food village Chan Nua opens in Luang Prabang\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Asian Trails Laos is collaborating with the residents of Chan Nua Village to promote this small local settlement, which is untouched by visitors, located outside of Luang Prabang. The village is an excellent example of how authentic Laotian life is preserved, and a means to continue supporting local handicraft and culinary traditions transferred from generation to generation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from its deeply-rooted way to keep Laotian cuisine as authentic as possible, Chan Nua is particularly known for its pottery industry.
