The Peacock Room in Shanghai\u2019s Taikoo Hui district is a beautiful restaurant that offers high quality Sichuan cuisine in a modernist setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

The venue in the Chinese city was once the playground of American artist James McNeill Whistler famed for his paintings of peacocks, now on display in the Freer Gallery of Art, after which the restaurant is named. With a seating capacity for a maximum of 115 guests, the owners of this rejuvenated establishment brings Sichuan cuisine to the table with a contemporary twist. Definitely a place to visit when in Shanghai, and craving for authentic Sichuan food.<\/span><\/p>\n

Malaysia is one of the countries that has joined the growing movement to protect the world\u2019s elephant population. Its latest project to help preserve these gentle giants is the Kenyir Elephant Conservation Village (KECV), built on a 256-hectare of land on the shore of Lake Kenyir in Terengganu. Its proprietors and conservationists have left 90% of the expansive land untouched, giving ample space for the pachyderm population to roam freely.
\n<\/a><\/span>The conservation village currently takes care of 13 elephants. Visitors have the opportunity to learn more about these magnificent mammals, and how they, and the local community, live together in harmony.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
