Thomas Cook Selected as a Key Event Partner for the Prestigious G20 Summit

 “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth – One Family – One Future”

With “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” as the theme, India will convene the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in 2023, as 43 Heads of Delegations- the largest ever in the G20–will participate in the final New Delhi Summit in September later this year.  The G20 summit in 2023 aims to bring together the world’s major economies to address pressing global challenges and foster international cooperation. As an influential participant, India’s involvement in the G20 2023 is crucial. 

Our Executive Chairman, Madhavan Menon, received a warm and traditional welcome at the G20 Summit meeting in Kolkata on 10th August 2023. His presence at this prestigious event was a boost to our staff, signifying the importance of the event. During the Summit, Madhavan met and interacted with some prominent dignitaries.

This prestigious event has offered valuable opportunity for putting India’s MICE capabilities into the spotlight. The series of over 200 meetings, conferences and year-long engagements are happening across the country, with G20 members, and delegates, from invited countries, and international organizations.

We are proud to inform you that Thomas Cook India has been selected as one of the key event partners for G20 events.  Our MICE Team has been involved with several aspects of these meetings, and has been working really hard to deliver best services. The G20 represents a mega platform, and we are delighted to be a part of the event management team for these prestigious meetings.

Among the many responsibilities, Thomas Cook India has also been handling airport assistance, Enroute City Branding, Main Meeting Hall set-ups including furniture, décor, audio visuals, and all technical requirements. In addition to this, there is Show Management, Overall Venues’ Décor and Branding, Setup and Management of other conference facilities such as bilateral rooms, press conferences, side events, secretariat etc.. Also included are the organising and management of Gala Dinners.

A mammoth task!

We have also enabled INR payments via UPI for foreign nationals from G20 countries – this facility can be availed across Thomas Cook’s Airport counters and branches.

Thomas Cook India had won the bid to execute these events in October last year, and since then it has been all systems go towards a truly historic milestone in our profile. Under the prolific guidance of the Management, the Thomas Cook MICE team, along with the valuable support of numerous team members from across the country, has been working tirelessly 24×7 , over the past 8 months to ensure flawless execution of approximately 50 back-to-back events.
