Thomas Cook (India) enables the IronMan70.3 Team to Prove its “Mettle” in Colombo, Sri Lanka!

IMG_8523With the combined efforts of the Marketing and Domestic teams, Thomas Cook (India) Limited set foot (literally!) into the rapidly growing space of endurance event/sports holidays by facilitating a group of athletes who participated in the IronMan 70.3 (1.9 km swim – 90 km cycle ride – 21.1 km run) in Colombo on February 25th 2018.  It was an eagerly awaited event that witnessed a lot of participation from Indians.

Thomas Cook worked very closely with the event team to ensure that all the requirements of the athletes were taken care of – right from their preferred flights, special arrangements for airlifting carbon-fibre cycles, hotels close to the race start point, transfers for airport, route recce and also special facilities at their hotel, including storage of cycles.

The members of the group were extremely happy with the planning and execution which helped them have a worry-free race.

Anirudh Pandya, the prolific four time Full Ironman and Marathoner, and one of the pioneers of armature running in India who led this group said – “An ultra endurance event like the IronMan70.3 requires months if not years of training, preparation and planning. We were looking for a partner who would understand the requirements and sensitivities of such a group, and curate an experience accordingly. Happy to note that Thomas Cook India delivered well on this front with seamless execution on ground”.
