Thomas Cook (India) Ltd., being the market leader in the Foreign Exchange business, launched the 9th currency for its Borderless Prepaid Card users. Thomas Cook (India) Ltd’s  Borderless Prepaid Card will now empower travellers with the option of loading as many as Nine currencies on a single card – US Dollars, British Pounds, Euro, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Swiss Francs, Singapore Dollars, Japanese Yen and now, the United Arab Emirates Dirham.

With the Thomas Cook borderless prepaid Forex Card,  travellers can take the required forex amount in multiple currencies in the palm of their hand. They can seamlessly travel from country to country and use a single prepaid card to shop at various major establishments as well as withdraw money from ATMs. The launch of AED comes on the heels of recent positive growth for India’s tourism industry which shows that the number of outbound trips going to the Emirate amounted to 2.1 million last year, marking a 15 per cent increase, followed by Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. This was according to a recent report by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. The AED wallet has been enabled on Thomas Cook’s entire base of 300,000 cardholders.

We launched the borderless prepaid card to offer our customers a seamless experience while travelling overseas enabling customers to have the convenience of loading 8 widely used currencies on one card. Various factors such as robust air connectivity with key Indian hubs having direct flights to Dubai and simplified Visa processes has led to more and more Indians travelling to Dubai. Considering the increasing popularity of the destination, we made one more addition of AED to the card, which should certainly add value to an already very useful way of carrying foreign exchange!
