The Domestic team was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by a bejeweled elephant for a training programme in Kovalam, Kerala.
There were exciting sessions as Domestic Holidays had many new products to discuss and display for the current year. To give all the various departments–including Sales, Operations, Marketing, Service Quality, Commercials etc.– an opportunity to interact with one another, the training session was held in Kovalam from 9th-11th February at the Uday Samudrai Resorts & Spa. This culminated in a presentation for Rajeev Kale–President & Country Head.
While the training sessions involved hard work planning for 2017, there was time for some fun too. With interesting activities such as the travel quiz, the travel saga, the talent show and the ramp walk, all the participants joined in with great gusto, getting into the spirit of things.
On a more serious note, the domestic team partnered with the hotel on a CSR activity, with the entire lot visiting one of the oldest schools in Trivandrum. This institution is known for its social responsibility and its cultural values. It offers education to every child born there.
Wishing to make a difference, Team Domestic actively took part in the CSR project. Daily activities at the school, apart from education, involve planting trees, feeding animals, cleaning the village, hygiene camps and science & technology.
The students were taught the importance of planting trees, and we discussed the prevention of deforestation. As an example we planted several trees together with the school participants.
It was a fulfilling trip not only from the business angle, but we were grateful for the fact that we could involve ourselves in something useful as well.
