Women are as powerful as the way they are. International Women’s Day is the day when the entire globe applauds their positivity and honors all the women in the world. Thomas Cook India has always honoured and respected its women not only on that one day in March, but throughout the year. And on International Women’s Day each year the company reiterates and affirms that commitment to its female staff. As in other years, this year too there were special activities and programmes to celebrate it.
The Marathon office in Mumbai looked cheerful and festive, as staff walked in to find pink balloons floating above their desks! There was an air of anticipation as various exciting activities were announced.
An important event was the launch of Ladies First— the exclusive women-only group tours. ( See separate article.)
There were Pop-up stalls, motivating lectures, games and a Fashion Show — the latter being the highlight of the day! Organised by Vistara Airlines, we saw our staff strutting their stuff with great confidence. The first prize was Vistara premium tickets for two, for the lucky winner.
A celebratory cake was cut by senior women staff, and a good time was generally had by all! The guys did their bit by valiantly cheering the ladies on in all the events, and applauding enthusiastically during the games and contests!
