On the eve of May 2018, Private Safaris EA embarked on a mission to collect fresh and live digital content from ongoing safaris. This move would see its safari guides/drivers capture amazing moments while on safari, and submit the photos to the e-commerce team upon the completion of the trip.
Depending on the time the photos are submitted, and as the voting exercise normally takes place every month, the photos are put into a central location whereby members of the e-commerce team can have access, vote and select the winning photo against the driver/guide. After the exercise is done, an award (a shopping voucher worth Kshs. 5,000) is conferred on the winner whose picture is chosen as ‘the photo of the month.’
So why the campaign? Initially, the idea originated from the e-commerce team who had in the past few months experienced a lot of challenges especially in collecting some good quality content from some places, the reasons being either the content was too expensive, or of poor quality or even scanty. It was then agreed that the exercise should kick off with each and every driver expected to participate.
If there is anyone that has seen the wonderful fruits of success of this campaign, WE have! Although it may be at a slower pace, we couldn’t be happier with the results. We believe this is not only a way of encouraging our drivers to better their skills or uplifting our safari clients — we believe the entire exercise will surely lift the entire company’s image a notch higher!
