Onam, primarily a harvest festival, is one of the most important festivals for all Keralites, and is celebrated across various parts of the world. This year our colleagues in Kerala outdid themselves to celebrate Onam with Kathakali maestro Venu, the lead artist at Greenix theatre in Fort Kochi. The dance form plays a vital role in Kerala tourism. They organised a special Sadya (feast) at the theatre itself and invited the kathakali master and honoured him with Ponnada (The Golden Shawl). It was a great interactive Onam Sadya with him. He shared with the staff the thrill and challenges of a life which is fully dedicated to the great art form Kathakali. It was truly a traditional event.
