Neelakurinji Up-close — A Rare Experience!

Neelakurinji-Up-close

A Japanese group travelling with TCI visited Munnar to have a look at the Neelakurinji flower which blooms once in twelve years.

The group was delighted to see the hills of Munnar bathed in a dreamy shade of blue.

Apart from being a feast for the eyes, the blooming of the plant also provides sustenance for butterflies, insects and honeybees in the region. The honey from the Neelakurinji plant is said to be medicinal.

It was, indeed, a unique experience for the travellers.
