Celebrations— A Green Ganesh Chaturthi

Go green Ganesha

In keeping with our efforts to keep our environment healthy, instead of installing the usual painted Ganeshas, we celebrated  Ganesh Chaturthi with an Eco friendly Ganesha where the idols were specially made from clay – Shadu Mati.  They were artistic and bio-gradable. This event was organized with the help of our banking partner – HDFC bank. Have a look at the pictures to get the essence of it!

Navratri Lights Up the Office

durga7Navaratri (Sanskrit: नवरात्र) the festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga, is always celebrated meaningfully in Thomas Cook India. The word Navaratri means ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. It symbolises the triumph over the evil forces around us. The victory over negative energies in ‘nine nights’ shows Goddess Durga in her different nine avatars, and these are often signified by nine different colours one for each day.

At our office in Mumbai, staff came to work wearing the ‘colour of the day’ , and the festival was culminated with an energetic Garba and Dandiya Raas session at the  Marathon and  D.N Road offices where all the employees from the Mumbai branches were also invited to join in. It was an enjoyable session with everyone enthusiastically getting into the spirit of it.
