Joy Comes in Twos in Kenya

Ignore the obvious eclipse and equinox you used to know. Focus on where you were in 1980 when two beautiful baby elephants, Eclipse and Equinox were born in Kenya. One could only have attributed this to luck but we think this was a miracle in those days.

Today, 38 years later, Paru, another wonderful mother gave birth to twins, Norah and Katito, male and female. Tjoy-comes-in-twohese two were reportedly delivered during the rainy season in Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. What a joy! To Norah and Katito, ‘Karibu’, welcome to Kenya!

Why then do elephants have a long gestation period? Have you ever wondered? Experts tend to believe that this is due to the huge size of the animal, which leads to the slower development of the baby in the mother’s womb. What’s your take on this?

Come to Kenya and tell us!
