
After over two years Bhutan was re-opened on 23rd September 2022. Neeraj Singh Dev, Senior Vice President – Ecommerce India and Shorthaul Holidays, Thomas Cook India & SOTC, had the opportunity to attend the inauguration ceremony organised for the occasion
Tourism Bhutan focuses on promoting sustainable and responsible tourism, and it is the only carbon negative country in the world. Bhutan is also known as the world’s happiest country. During his visit, Neeraj had the privilege to meet the Prime Minister of Bhutan – Lotay Tshering, along with the other cabinet members. At the meeting, he discussed Thomas Cook and SOTC’s role in promoting Bhutan as a sustainable destination.


Neeraj visited Thimphu, Paro and Punakha over a duration of 7 days. During his stay, he went for camping, and got an opportunity to participate in the Trans Bhutan Trail – one of the greatest long-distance treks; he also experienced local cuisine at a homestay in Paro.
