FEMA-1999- Interactive Workshop Organised by the RBI for Full Fledged Money-Changers in Ahmedabad

The  RBI had organised the FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management ACT 1999) workshop for FFMCs in Ahmedabad on December 29, 2016. The main objective was to familiarize the FFMCs, students, exporters-importers, members of the public and their concurrent auditors, with the extant rules and regulations, and also to seek policy and procedures. The objective was also to improve  the operational skills of the FFMC  in view of the current monetary scenario.

This was one of the rare workshops organised by the RBI and  Thomas Cook was requested to impart the training to the FFMCs on the topic regarding detection of Counterfeit notes. img_20170109_185024Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager- Service Delivery), gave the detailed presentation, and also discussed  the new currencies which are to be introduced. There was also a discourse on the polymer notes introduced by certain countries to combat fraud. In this seminar, their GM P Gayon, Deputy GM D.B Singh,  R.A. Kerketta -AGM FED AMD,  and Shalini Sachan -AGM FED AMD,  were present.      

RBI D.G.M. D.B.Singh conveyed he was pleased with the workshop and appreciated Sanjay’s role in it. He suggested they should conduct more workshops for FFMCs/Banks in the State in collaboration with TCIL.
