Asian Trails Vietnam is extremely proud to have obtained Travelife Partner Status after initiating the various criteria and measures to work towards a sustainable means to push for responsible tourism. The certificate was handed over by Mr Naut Kusters, manager of Travelife for tour operators to Ms Thuy Tien, Managing Director of Asian Trails Vietnam (centre) at the recently held 2018 World Travel Market in London.

Together with a dedicated team, Asian Trails Vietnam has complied with more than 100 criteria, related to operators’ office management, product range, international business partners and customer information over a period where a responsible business analysis was conducted, sustainable practices were met, and a strategic plan was set up to gain awareness. The Travelife standard is covering the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relations; and is formally recognised as in full compliance with the UN supported Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria.

As the first country in the Asian Trails Group, our Vietnam team’s mission is to “Design Tourism Today for Tomorrow”. The company aims via its so called ESTEEM program to create a better world for visitors, suppliers, business partners and its team to leave their country in a better status than it is today. Particularly looking at extensive means of recycling, using eco-friendly travel options and closely working with local partners that embrace the concept of community-based-tourism without leaving a carbon footprint have driven Asian Trails Vietnam forward in obtaining Partner status.

As Naut Kusters said during the ceremony, “I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operators sector is obtaining momentum. The award of the front runner Asian Trails Vietnam will inspire other companies in Vietnam to follow the same path”.
